Benjamin Battino, M.D.
Dr Battino attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine, earning an M.D. degree in 1996. He then commenced residency training in Urology at the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 2002. He practiced urology in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for three years prior to joining Urology Specialists of Wisconsin in 2005. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr Battino specializes in robotic prostate surgery (benign and malignant), and has performed over 800 robotic assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomies as of 2020. He also performs laparoscopic and open kidney surgery, kidney stone surgery, and vasectomies. He sees patients at both the main Wausau office and Rhinelander outreach clinic every week.
Dr Battino is married to Gillian Battino, M.D. (she is a radiologist specializing in breast imaging), and has six children. Away from medicine, he enjoys running (has completed numerous marathons), mountain biking, spending time with family, travel, reading, and woodworking in his home shop. He is also a dog lover, especially German Shorthaired Pointers!
